Reading: How much/many — shopping
Tom goes to the supermarket to buy food for the week. He needs many things. He buys five apples, three bananas, and two bottles of milk. He also buys some bread and cheese. At the checkout, he asks, “How much is this bread?” The cashier tells him the price. Then he asks, “How many apples do I have?” He checks his bag and counts them. The apples are fresh and cheap. Tom is happy because he does not spend too much money.
